rte23 music festival

This year, RTE 23 is excited to welcome back Sugar Hill Brewing Company and Mountain Rose Vineyards as the exclusive providers of spirits for our 2017 festival.

“Sugar Hill Brewing Company is a brand new brewhouse based right here in Wise County,” says festival organizer Charles Fontaine. “Living in Wise, I am very excited to have a craft brewery in the county I call home.  When we heard that they would be opening, it made absolute sense to invite them to be a part of this year’s festival.”

Also taking part in RTE 23 this year will be Mountain Rose Vineyards, the locally owned winemaker based right here in Wise. Having been open for over a decade, Mountain Rose has made a name for itself among wine lovers both here in Southwest Virginia and across the state.

Because Mountain Rose calls Wise home, it was a natural progression for RTE 23.

“Our beer garden was very successful last year, and we wanted to expand it this year to showcase both the fantastic beer and wine that is being produced right here in Wise County,” said Bill Horne, RTE 23’s fundraising chairman. “Mountain Rose Vineyards has been creating award winning wines for years now, and their presence can only add to the flavor of our festival.”

Members of both the Sugar Hill Brewing Company and Mountain Rose Vineyards teams share our excitement in this year’s partnerships.

“Mountain Rose Vineyards is proud to be part of the festival this year, said Elizabeth Craft.  “We look forward to joining our other local partners in this wonderful celebration of music and talent on the beautiful UVa-Wise campus.”

Jennifer Bailey, of Sugar Hill, echoed these sentiments.

“We are so happy to be part of this wonderful festival! We hope our beer will add to the enjoyment of all.”
